I have been vacant on this page for quite some time (what with the current situation of having three children out of school) finding the time to achieve personal goals seems to have gone out of the window.

So, in a nutshell, my eldest child (who I started this page mostly about) is currently on an EOTAS package. Her old school peers have all just transitioned into secondary education and that realization of difference and longing has been thrown at her causing another curveball.
This is parallel to her two younger siblings – both have been out of school for over a year – whose emerging needs have also emphasized the need for more bespoke education. PDA has been identified and that is something we need suitable provision to be written in their EHC plans so they can begin to access education once again.
It’s a lot for a solo parent to juggle and I always feel like I’m doing lots but not getting anywhere fast!
I have been creating short written updates on Facebook and attempting Reels on Instagram to spread the word on PDA and keep our story flowing – so if you would like to join us there you’d be most welcome! Mostly you will see my youngest daughter with me as we enjoy making the videos together and she watches them all back on repeat laughing at ourselves (at least we have one viewer enjoying the content!!).
So what is our good news, I hear you ask!
Well it seems as if we have made it as finalists, once again, for the BAPS.
AND for those of you new to this term (before you all start thinking I’ve been given some fresh babalons!) those are not in fact the BAPS I am talking about!
So what are the BAPS?
The BAPS actually represent the awards for ‘bloody awesome parents and supporters’ – which are put together by the wonderful team at My Family Our Needs.
“The BAPS allow SEND bloggers to be recognised for their talents, their stories and their families – from the everyday to the exceptional. They showcase the valuable contribution SEND bloggers make in raising awareness of additional needs, both within the SEND community and the wider society.”
We have been invited to the awards ceremony in November and I’m quite shocked I’m allowed back if I’m honest. I mean, I MAY have been a little badly behaved at the last one – but you will have to rush over to my stories on Facebook or Instagram for a replay of those antics! I think Matt Horne, aka Gavin from ‘Gavin and Stacy’ was even surprised I wasn’t thrown out of the Athena!!
Oops. 🤷♀️
So this year we are in not one BUT two categories:
✔️ Truth about SEND – please vote here.
✔️ Blogpost with the Biggest Impact – please vote here.
We would be so grateful if you could vote for us in both categories 🙏 and we are also very humbled to be amongst the line up (there are some amazing finalists in each category).
So, will you support us this year for the BAPS?
