Free Autism Awareness Conference in Nuneaton: Register Now!

Next week we will be running a workshop at the Together with Autism Conference in Nuneaton so we thought it would be worth sharing the details in case you are a local resident and would like to join us.

The conference is one of three events put on by the team Act for Autism with funding from the Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System. The day consists of a range of talks and workshops, as well as information stands and stalls, which are all aimed at professionals, parents and carers, adults and anybody wanting to better understand autism.

The day is free, hot drinks will be provided, and it is open to anyone in Nuneaton or Warwickshire who would like to attend. We were at the previous conference in September over in Coventry which was a great day and we had a continuous stream of delegates stopping by our stall throughout the day. It was such a great atmosphere and there was a lovely buzz in the room.

Once you’ve booked onto the event, you can opt into your choice of workshops for the afternoon. There is a range of talks lined up and they were very well received at the last event so I would definitely recommend signing up if you can find the time.

The list of workshops available are here:

Our session for the afternoon is titled Supporting Children with Extreme Anxiety and/or a Demand Avoidant Profile and we give a brief overview of PDA as well as some strategies in order to support high levels of anxiety in autistic children, young people and adults.

We will hold a stall with more information about both of the books we have available, but for anyone who would like to find out more our children’s book, I’m Not Upside Down, I’m Downside Up, which is currently on offer with a 10% discount if you use the code UPSIDE10 at the checkout here.

We also have our adult’s novel available to purchase on the day of the conference – here is a snippet for anyone interested to read more.

This book is amazing. Danielle has written a fiction book that mirrors real life for many families who have children with Pathological Demand Avoidance.
