This blog has reached the finals for two very important blogging awards in 2018; making it in the Fresh Voice category at the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards (#BiBs2018) and a finalist for best Newcomer at the BAPS SEND Blog Awards (#BAPS2018).
Aside from blogging, we have also been featured in several articles for the PDA Society, SEN Magazine, Special Needs Jungle, Hemel Hempstead Gazette, The Herts Advertiser and That’s Life!
We have also written articles for companies Raring 2 Go! and Hi Mama, as well as writing reviews for soft play SEN areas such as DJ’s Play Park, and writing book reviews for Jessica Kinglsey Publishers.
I am planning to speak at an upcoming PDA conference (details soon to be released) and have appeared as a guest speaker at the Families In Focus PDA Conference 2017:
I also run regular sessions on PDA for a local autism charity as well as running workshops/training sessions in schools looking at strategies and our personal journey. I have recently taken on a role as a volunteer for the PDA Society too.
In my spare time I also help to facilitate a PDA/Autism/Anxiety specific support group for parents called the Parent Network. These are free, drop-in style sessions, with Families in Focus themed learning topics (for futher information click here) and a place where we feature regular guest speakers.
Our current dates for 2018 are:
