Launch of Families in Focus CIC New Parent Network

I’m really pleased to announce (at last!), about the launch of a new Families in Focus Parent Network, which we have been very excited about promoting.

In 2017, a group of parents (myself included), embarked on a new journey to be trained facilitators by the warm team at Families In Focus.

We supported each other and developed our existing skill sets so that we could bring some of our personal experiences to creat a new Parent Network.

After much deliberation, we realised that there was a real need for a support group that could help parents/carers who may have challenges that go with having a child or young person affected by anxiety.

I have teamed up with a fellow facilitator, Clare Pennell, who is also a parent of a young person with an additional need and who is keen to share her knowledge to support fellow parents.

Together, we will be running drop in sessions and organising topics that will be relevant to autism, anxiety and PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance).

Information for this group (and for other Parent Networks that may be launching soon), can be found here as well as free courses they offer to parents.

We hope to be warm, engaging and empathic so that we can create a safe and friendly environment for parents/carers/grandparents.

Both Clare and I thank Lesley and Francine for giving us the opportunity to develop the Families in Focus Parent Network.

We look forward to the new experiences ahead of us – 2018 is an exciting year!
